April 30, 2016, Kristal received a phone call no mother ever wants to receive, her oldest daughter Kami was presented to the ER with fatal symptoms due to a possible drug overdose. It was during those two weeks in the hospital where Kristal started her journey as a motivational speaker going live on Facebook to reach friends and family who wanted updates on Kami’s condition. Kami would later succumb to the overdose two weeks later. Now Kristal has made it her mission to share the Word of God and her story with the world. Every morning she goes live on Facebook to encourage others to find peace amongst their daily living. She has since started the community ran foundation called “Kami Kares” in honor of her daughter’s life. She wants the community to learn to build each other up again by feeding and clothing the homeless, encouraging the youth to become more involved with learning about God, showing families how to coupon and save money, and being blessed to be a blessing to others. Kami Kares is not 501(c) (3) and has no plan on being 501(c)(3). She feels that the rewards of obeying the true Word of God in showing love for one another would reap eternal crops.
