Chandi Rae is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana and teen mom turned self-made entrepreneur with two decades in the beauty industry as a managing cosmetologist. She accredits her innovative trailblazing nature to her experience as an “Army Brat” where she lived among diverse cultures in Europe. Chandi’s passion for personal development has taken root as she is inspiring others to tell their story and live the life of their dreams through her company Edge Luxe Image Consulting LLC, Vanish Board [TM] Workshop, Image Is Inside Out [TM] Women’s Empowerment, virtual coaching, and A Grown Conversation [TM] Talk Show. Manicka is a licensed social worker with experience in working with children and families overcome social hurdles and providing supportive tools to help them achieve their goals. Manicka Thomas is the CEO of Thomas Community Consulting LLC, a Continuing Education and Professional Development company that offers workshops and training to address issues impacting the African American community from a culturally relevant perspective.
With over 10 years of experience, her work with youth and families spans from working with head start children and parents to supporting rising high school Seniors in completing college level coursework for graduation. She is an Adjunct Faculty member in the Social Work Program at Sinclair Community College. Her primary interests as an educator are Cultural Competence, Afrocentricity as a Model for Social Change, and African American youth development and behavior.
She graduated in 2005 from Freed-Hardeman University (Tennessee) with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She continued her education at The Ohio State University, receiving a Master’s degree in Social Work with a specialization in School Social Work in 2006. Manicka is also a Licensed Social Worker for the State of Ohio.

Ashley N. Browning is a graduate of Kentucky State University, where she received a BA in Criminal Justice and a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where she received her Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling. Recently, she received her certification in Chemical Dependency from Union College.
In 2013, Ashley moved back to Dayton, Ohio and started, SoLoved, a project based organization that is committed to assisting different populations in the local community through outreach and monthly initiatives. The focal scripture of the organization is John 3:16. Which states that God SOLOVED the world that HE gave…; which encourages us to give. Through Ashley’s leadership and execution of various community focused events and initiatives, SoLoved has been able to meet the needs in the community, not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually.
Ashley’s most recent endeavor of starting her own business, Browning Enterprises, LLC, where she will continue to serve her community as a non-for-profit and small business consultant and independent contractor. Ashley is inspired to continue the legacy of her grandfather, Harry C. Browning.

Fed up with the stereotypical caricatures used to falsely portray the Black culture, Tyrone Givens is committed to creating heroes and heroines as positive images for our children. To reverse the less-than-flattering qualities that diminish self-esteem, self-worth and cultural value, this master storyteller entertains readers with science fiction plots infused with historical facts often omitted from school curriculum.
Givens, a home-school educator whose high school-aged children are attending college, is a multi-lingual, federally-licensed airplane pilot. The Bennu Project is the culmination of his passions: empowering Black children, accurate depiction of our history, and rebuilding our community.
